Johanne Cooper

PROJECT MANAGER - PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

A special education teacher, Johanne Cooper began her career in the school system before choosing to work in the community sector, where she developed a deeply human approach. In 1988, she found her calling at Maison Tangente, a homeless shelter in Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, where she became executive director in 2008. For over 36 years, she worked there with passion, while also assuming leadership roles within the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve Youth Roundtable and the Quebec Homeless Shelter Network. In 2025, she joined the Coalition Jeunes+ to continue her commitment to preventing youth homelessness, putting her expertise to work for a cause that has always been close to her heart.

Mélodie Cordeau

YOUTH MOBILIZATION AND REPRESENTATION PROJECT MANAGER

Initially involved as a young person with lived experience of homelessness, Mélodie now plays a central role in structuring initiatives co-created with young people with lived experience. She ensures that their voices, proposals, and realities are at the heart of the analysis, communications, and advocacy of the Coalition Jeunes+, particularly to guarantee the complementarity of knowledge.

She embodies a profoundly human vision of social change: change built by, for, and with young people, through listening, respect, and collaboration. Through her work, she contributes to advancing sustainable solutions to prevent youth homelessness and strengthen the recognition of young people's rights throughout Quebec.
