Conference on the National Policy to Combat Homelessness

The Coalition Jeunes+ participated in the Conference on the National Policy to Combat Homelessness, where Mélodie Cordeau, a young person with lived experience, spoke on the second guiding principle: “Considering people as full citizens.”
She highlighted the stigma associated with marginalization and the importance of challenging narratives of individual responsibility, while also ensuring that young people are given the means to fully engage in society.
The other panelists emphasized a shared vision of the guiding principles, focused on dignity, rights, and empowering marginalized people. They also stressed the need for interministerial coordination, humane and personalized support, as well as the importance of collective responsibility to support people experiencing homelessness and to develop preventive solutions.
