The Coalition Jeunes+ took part in the International Conference on Youth Homelessness Prevention, held in Toronto from February 24 to 26, 2025.

Tommy and Mélodie from the Youth+ Committee, Mégane and Marie-Ève from the Coalition Jeunes+ staff team, Cécile Arbaud, Executive Director of Dans la rue, as well as Sue-Ann from the Youth Homelessness Prevention (PIJ) research project, presented the mission and approach of the Coalition Jeunes+, while also sharing the findings of the PIJ research.

An enriching discussion followed, addressing the outrage at the scale of youth homelessness worldwide, as well as the hope of preventing and ending this situation. The strong collaboration between the youth of the Coalition Jeunes+ and the team was highlighted, emphasizing its role in strengthening their cohesion and the impact of the work accomplished.

Among the main issues discussed at the conference were the realities of Indigenous peoples, 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, racialized communities, as well as topics related to child and youth protection, education, family, and youth rights. The conference also showcased numerous innovative approaches and local youth-led initiatives. These presentations informed, enriched, and guided the reflections of the Coalition Jeunes+, providing additional tools to prevent youth homelessness.
